Through the work of play and the play of work, using marvelous 18th- and 19th-century hand run machines, Grace brings you her unique and intriguing Reliquary Boxes. Mystery and playfulness are the main ingredients. The boxes evoke a time one has had as a child, lost in a world of one's own. The rolling balls in the lid of each box have a mesmerizing dreamy effect like that of water. Images range from interactive, to plaintive, to spiritual to downright odd. Painted copper gives the boxes a solid warmth. Grace creates these handcrafted art pieces in her upstate New York studio situated along the mighty Hudson River where the past meets the present.
